Third Annual Red Heart Gala

On October 1, 2015 we'll gather for the third year in a row at The English Manor in Ocean Township to honor some folks who are real gifts to The Center in Asbury Park. This event has become a tradition. And its a wonderful time to reflect on how gifted The Center has been by so many wonderful people who make up the community that is The Center in Asbury Park and Center House.

This year with our Outstanding Volunteer Award we're honoring two couples who have been such faithful and devoted volunteers. - Dave and Pat King and Jim and Kate Geiger. Both the Geiger's and the King's are Tuesday volunteers and have done just about anything that could be done to make our service of folks happen.

Our Business Partner Award goes to Kevin Flanagan and Buy Rite Liquors of Tinton Falls. People involved with our annual Center a la Carte over the past years know how much energy, work, passion Kevin has brought to that event! And throughout the year whenever there is an event that needs "spirits" we know Kevin will be on board. And, in addition, he volunteers with us on Monday morning - cleaning out the freezer, packing up meals - all with wonderful energy.

Our Health Provider Award goes to Dennis Campbell of Campbell's Pharmacy. Dennis, in a quiet but determined way, has always seen to it that our residents and clients are treated in a special way when the holidays happen. In his professional work with the pharmacy as well as his personal passion for treating people well he makes a difference at The Center.

Pat Sherman will be awarded the Special Service Award- with good reason. Her devotion to the New Jersey Ride Against AIDS over the years, and more recently FEEDing FRENZ make such a difference in the lives of so many. And along with it she brings a huge amount of good people who join her in the efforts. There are few words strong enough word to describe what this amazing woman does!

And finally our Community Leadership Award goes to the Brielle Woman's Club as a special way to recognize another amazing woman, Esther Forest, who introduced the Club to The Center years ago and created a relationship that endures. We lost Esther all too soon but her energy and love remain.

October 1st will be an amazing evening to give thanks, to celebrate what we are able to do.....together.
